More important than anything in these articles is having a veterinarian that you can carry your bird(s) to in case of an emergency. A board certified Avian Veterinarian is your best choice, but all of us aren't lucky enough to live within a reasonable distance to one. At the very least...do your homework NOW and at least find a Veterinarian close-by that's at least comfortable enough with birds so that you can call on them in case of an emergency.
